We specialise in connectivity, connecting organisations such as offices, schools, hospitals, datacenters and mobile communication masts with our state of the art fiber optic network. We also connect objects such as bridges and locks, electrical substations, camera systems and traffic control systems. All this is carried out smoothly and safely, based on our vast experience. Dark Fiber connectionsWith our dark fiber connections, we offer our customers and partners the opportunity to determine the capacity of their connections themselves. They can use one or more physically separated glass fibers and determine their own bandwidth with their own fiber optic transmitters. Network availability between 99.9 and 99.99% offers a reliable performance for mission-critical corporate processes. EthernetOur Basic, Advanced and Premium Ethernet services combine our fiber optic network with industry leading Ethernet equipment. The bandwidth of these connections can be expanded from 10 Mbps to 10 Gbps in various steps, easily and without extra investments. These are ideal solutions for organisations requiring e.g. internet access, VOIP, data transport and remote data storage. Optical Transmission ServicesOur Optical Transmission Services (OTS) are perfectly suited for longer distances and for applications requiring very high bandwidth and very low delay. Examples of such services are data replication and mirroring, video transport and cloud applications. OTS allows for connecting various services over a single connection while they are completely separated from one another. The available bandwidth varies between 1Gbps up to 40Gbps, or multiples thereof.Read more >
As an extension to our connectivity services, we also offer colocation services, whereby customers can house their hardware, data and applications in our datacenters. Just as with ourfiber optic network, we guarantee high availability, security and an open infrastructure. Hosting IT solutions in a safe external environmentOur datacenter offers a safe environment for organisations who want to host their IT solutions externally. Reasons for making this decision include offering applications to users from a single central location such as an own company network or ‘the cloud’; wanting to host mission-critical corporate systems both internally and externally from a continuity management point of view. Or because they want to store large quantities of (back-up) data at an external location. Maximum availability and reliabilityThe Eurofiber Group owns two datacenters which comply with the most stringent demands with respect to security, climate control and sustainable energy consumption. This means that we can provide maximum availability and reliability, while our users can also enjoy full freedom in deciding which carrier they want to use to connect to the outside world. Centrally located datacentersThe central location of our datacenters means they are perfectly suited for distributing data throughout the Netherlands. Plus we’re connected with a network of 67 other datacenters nationwide, offering an abundance of extra flexibility on top of that.Read more >
Upon acquiring UNET in 2013, we expanded our fiber optic network as well as our range of services. UNET offers a full package of connectivity and services to small and medium-sized enterprises. However, our customers and partners are entirely free to combine our UNET connections with services delivered by other suppliers, in line with our philosophy of a fully open network model. From VOIP to connecting branch officesIn addition to connectivity over fiber optic networks, UNET also delivers additional services such as digital connections over the traditional copper network and wireless connections. UNET’s services vary from internet access to telephony and debit card payment systems to alarm systems that work over the internet. The ability to gain access to and store information quickly and securely is crucial to every company. Our services are entirely oriented towards companies. From small to medium-sized enterprises up to organisations with dozens of locations; they all rely on our digital infrastructure to communicate with their staff, partners and customers. As a result from this focus, we know what’s important to these customers, whether they operate in the financial industry, the service industry, focus on real estate, are industrial corporations or trading companies. Centralised access to applications and dataAn increasing number of companies centralise their applications and data storage. This enables efficient management while everything is optimally accessible for their staff. They must be able to gain access regardless of location: at home, on the go or at one of the various offices; but also with whatever device they want to use: a smart phone, tablet, laptop or desktop computer. At the same time, it also becomes more common for customers and partners to be offered remote access to specific business applications. Our connections ensure that all these scenarios are entirely supported for quick, fast and reliable accessibility to IT systems. Datacenters for hosting, fall-back and back-upOur datacenters play an important role when it comes to centralising IT. For companies looking to interconnect various locations, these datacenters are an ideal location to host and provide access to their applications and data. Companies may also choose to mirror their internal systems in a datacenter, providing full continuity in case the primary infrastructure would face a disturbance. Other companies may also choose to store a back-up of their mission-critical data, for which high availability and reliability are essential.Read more >
The telecommunications industry is evolving at lightning speed. The digitalisation of our society make high bandwidths and a reliable network indispensable for telecommunications providers, as their customers depend on their network, for phone calls and internet, working at the office, at home or on the go. The majority of both domestic and international telecom providers on the Dutch market rely on our fiber optic network, from mobile to fixed operators, carriers, cable companies and service providers. Mobile traffic over a fiber optic networkAn increasing share of communication is handled by mobile devices. Staff members want to be able to work anytime and anywhere with any device they choose. Consumers watch movies and listen to music online with various devices. These developments led to the 3G to 4G upgrade of mobile networks for all mobile operators. While mobile traffic remains mobile from a device up to the transmission tower, all data is processed through the underground infrastructure after being received by the transmission tower. This data then continues via the fiber optic network of Eurofiber Group. This is exactly why mobile operators choose our network to meet the increasing bandwidth needs their customers have, a development that currently led to over 50% of all mobile traffic in the Netherlands being processed via our network. Focusing on connectivityIt is essential for telecommunications corporations that we focus on delivering fiber optic connections, based on an open network. It is because of this that one of the world’s largest internet exchanges chose Eurofiber as their connectivity partner. The clean separation between connections and services means that we are not a competitor for our clients in the telecommunications industry while they have full flexibility in offering custom-made solutions to their customers based on our infrastructure.Read more >
The digitalisation of our society has led to fundamental changes. Utility companies and local governments need to improve their service level and increase efficiency. This calls for an innovative partner with extensive experience in connecting objects and even entire cities. Optimising road trafficHundreds of bridges and locks in the Netherlands are already connected to our fiber optic network, while the number of cameras and traffic control systems using our network grows daily. This has led to improvements in traffic flow and optimisations in the alignment of road and water traffic, as well as a decrease in traffic jams, lower carbon emissions and less annoyance. Our high quality connections may even save lives, as they can prevent ambulances from waiting for a bridge to come down. Guaranteed power supplyThe connection of hundreds of electrical substations to our infrastructure manages the power supply to both consumers and organisations. Should a single station fail, then our infrastructure allows for immediate rerouting of the energy supply while instantly signalling the registered issue. Digital servicesThe services delivered to citizens by their municipalities, as well as e.g. education and healthcare services, are increasingly being offered digitally. Our infrastructure has stimulated this innovation and constitutes a strong foundation for a smart society. Click here to view our Smart Society videoRead more >
Digitalisation, innovation and up-scaling have all benefitted educational institutions as well. All this however, requires a solid infrastructure, internally and between different educational institutions and with very fast internet connections. A good infrastructure allows for institutions to join forces, stimulate cooperation between students and tutors and increase performance and efficiency. We provide that infrastructure. Digital learning environmentsThe cloud facilitates challenging and stimulating learning environments. These environments offer course content in an attractive way and allow students to stay up-to-date about their results; at school, at home and on the go. At the same time, educational institutions are able to continuously monitor their learning outcomes and further improve the quality and results of their education. Transporting and storing data within learning environments requires considerable bandwidth, a need that will grow exponentially in the years to come. Centralising IT infrastructureEducational institutions increasingly cooperate with one another. They merge or enter into extensive partnerships. A considerable operational gain can often be achieved through centralising the IT infrastructure, not only in terms of efficiency and flexibility, but also in terms of budget. Connecting various locations within one single network requires fast, secure and safe connections.Read more >
The healthcare industry is innovating rapidly. We offer the foundation for new applications and business models to adequately respond to healthcare needs. The majority of hospitals in the Netherlands use our fiber optic network for their data traffic, making it an indispensable element of their infrastructure. Real-time exchange of medical informationHealthcare facilities may merge or opt for other forms of cooperation. To maximise capacity and efficiency between cooperating facilities, scarce and expensive medical instruments such as CAT Scans are shared amongst one another. Sharing these extensive, and often highly confidential, medical data files in real-time often stresses existing infrastructures. Centralising data and applications Healthcare facilities that cooperate on larges scales creates a growing need for centralising data and applications. An abundance of confidential medical information such as digital patient files and scientific research are to be stored in a secure environment for decades, while all facilities using this information always need secure and real-time access to this centrally stored information. Over 50% over all hospitals in the Netherlands rely on the reliable and often redundant Eurofiber Group connections, as our secure and sustainable datacenters meet the stringent demands inextricably connected to the healthcare industry.Read more >
Our social investment policy revolves fully around our own staff, products and services working for charity, setting us apart from other organisations. Supporting social initiativesWe regularly offer our services to support social initiatives. For example, we provided a fiber optic connection to the ‘Glass House’ in the annual ‘Serious Request’ campaign, hosted by Radio 3FM to raise funds for a new charity each year. We also donated a fiber optic connection to provide a live stream for the birth of a baby elephant in the Amersfoort Zoo. Stimulating volunteersVolunteer work carried out under the Eurofiber flag is something we applaud: we encourage staff to support charities with which they feel a personal connection. A considerable number of our staff team up each year for a large pancake festival for people with learning difficulties and visual impairments.Read more >
Carrying out business ethically is a top priority for us. Our staff and suppliers know what we expect from them. They commit to these pledges as soon as they start working for us. Staff code of conductAs soon as their employment starts, our staff members sign a code of conduct. This code explains our policy with regards to ethical business operations. We are extremely strict when it comes to enforcing this code of conduct and maintain a zero tolerance policy. Screening our suppliersBefore we enter into an agreement with a supplier, we screen their track record for ethical behaviour. If there’s any doubt, we do not proceed. We also ask contract partners to notify us about ‘ethical incidents’ in their supply chain. Should these incidents receive insufficient attention, then this may lead to contract termination. Contacting the authorities in case of illegal activitiesOur open model offers organisations the autonomy and freedom of choice to use and apply their infrastructure as they see fit. We do not assume the role of pre-screening our customers or partners. We do however immediately notify law enforcement agencies if we suspect illegal activities.Read more >
